Job summary

OOCL in Hong Kong seeks an Assistant Manager, Space and Capacity Management to drive traffic-related processes, collaborate on cargo prospecting and loading optimization, and plan for service recovery.

You will monitor idling and loading risks using analytics, update systems on time, and coordinate with traffic teams for coastal top-up opportunities while contributing to digital transformation projects to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Shipping & Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in shipping.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to work independently under pressure; team-oriented with business sense.
• High proficiency in English and Putonghua; good Chinese writing.

Assistant Manager, Space and Capacity Management

To execute traffic-related processes and achieve the defined KPI targets by:

(a) collaborating with concerned stakeholders for cargo prospect, optimal loading per business priorities, and contingency planning for service recovery.

(b) monitoring potential and actual idling, loading risks, and opportunities through systems and analytic tools, and taking prompt actions.

(c) timely updating the respective systems and reports according to defined accountability, processes, and timelines.

To coordinate with concerned traffic teams for optimal coastal top-up opportunities.

To contribute to traffic management-related digital transformation projects.

Requirements:

• University graduate in Business, Shipping & Logistics or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in shipping industry
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Able to work independently and under pressure, possess business sense and being team-oriented.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua).
• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Applications. Proficiency in Analytical Tools (Spotfire, Tableau) is a plus.
