Job summary

ConnectedGroup is supporting an environmental nonprofit by hiring a Manager, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships in Hong Kong. The role focuses on growing the organisation through partnership development, fundraising and stakeholder engagement to expand impact across programmes.

You will build relationships, develop proposals, and coordinate with internal teams and external partners in English and Chinese, reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising or stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with corporate, institutional, or public-sector partners.
• Nonprofit, sustainability or social impact sector experience is a plus.
• Strong networking, relationship-building and communication skills.
• Fluent Cantonese and Mandarin with strong written English.

Responsibilities

• Support fundraising and partnership development by engaging corporates, foundations, financial institutions and other partners.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, concept notes and materials for funding applications.
• Build and manage a pipeline of partners and donors from initial contact to agreement.
• Identify new funding sources and strategic collaboration opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with corporate, government, academic and nonprofit stakeholders.
• Represent the organisation at meetings, industry events and forums as needed.
• Explain programme objectives and impact to external stakeholders in English and Chinese.
• Coordinate with internal teams on donor communications and cross-functional initiatives.
• Prepare clear written materials including briefing notes and reports.

At ConnectedGroup, we are supporting an environmental non-profit organization in the search Manager, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships.

The successful candidate with report into senior leadership and will be responsible to support the growth of the organisation through partnership development, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. They will help identify opportunities, build relationships, develop proposals, and support collaboration across different programme areas.

Responsibilities

• Support fundraising and partnership development efforts by engaging corporates, foundations, financial institutions, professional bodies, and other potential partners.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, concept notes, and other materials to support funding applications and partnership discussions.
• Build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners and donors, tracking opportunities from initial engagement through to agreement.
• Conduct outreach and research to identify new funding sources, partnership opportunities, and strategic collaborations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including corporate, government, academic, nonprofit, and philanthropic organisations.
• Represent the organisation at meetings, industry events, forums, and networking activities as required.
• Gain a solid understanding of the organisation's programmes and communicate their objectives and impact effectively to external stakeholders.
• Work closely with internal teams to coordinate partnership opportunities, donor communications, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Prepare clear and professional written materials in both English and Chinese, including briefing notes, reports, meeting summaries, and external communications.
• Provide support on special projects and other priorities as required.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, consulting, financial services, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with corporate, institutional, or public-sector stakeholders.
• Experience within the nonprofit, social impact, or sustainability sectors would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Strong networking, relationship-building, and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication skills and experience preparing proposals, presentations, and reports.
• Able to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and follow through on commitments.
• Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
• Fluent spoken Cantonese and Mandarin, with strong written English skills.
• Interest in sustainability, environmental issues, or social impact is required.
• Salary budget HKD 40,000 - 45,000.
