Job summary

HKT is seeking a Network and Security Operations Engineer in Hong Kong to implement and configure router, switch, Wi‑Fi, firewall, VPN, and proxy policies as part of BAU activities. The role covers hands-on deployment and ongoing maintenance.

You will monitor and respond to security events using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intel, supporting 24/7 operations and coordinating with management on incidents and vulnerability mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in network and security operation role.
• Strong understanding of network and security principles, practices, and technologies.
• Experience with network and security tools such as router, switch, Wi‑Fi system, firewall, VPN, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of Cisco, H3C, Aruba AC, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Sangfor, Hillstone, Huawei, and related components.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCNA, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are a plus.
• Team Player, self‑motivated and work independently.
• Candidates with more experience will be considered as Network Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational tasks such as implementing and configuring router, switch, Wi‑Fi system, firewall, VPN, and proxy policies as part of BAU activities
• Support network and security components round‑the‑clock in areas such as router, switch, Wi‑Fi system, firewall, VPN, proxy, and various security tools like NSPM, SASE and NDR.
• Deploy and manage network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Darktrace, CrowdStrike, SIEM to track network performance and security
• Promptly investigate and address security alerts, incidents, and breaches with efficiency.
• Handle security events and incidents in a 24/7 environment to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities
• Utilize SIEM tools to troubleshooting, analyze security data and produce reports for management and stakeholders
