Gammon Construction Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Subletting professional to support the Head of Sub-contracting in managing sub-contractor engagement and commercial activities on Civil projects in Hong Kong.

You will lead sub-let package selection, negotiate terms, analyze cost data and performance metrics, and collaborate with Procurement, Legal and Project Management to ensure effective execution and risk management.

This role supports the Head of Sub-contracting in managing all aspects of sub-contractor engagement and commercial activities. The role ensures the implementation of effective subletting strategies, robust contract management, and alignment with project delivery objectives - contributing to the overall commercial success of our Civil projects.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Sub-contracting in formulating and executing subletting strategies across multiple construction projects;
• Lead the assessment, selection, and negotiation of sub-contractor packages in close coordination with project teams;
• Analyze cost data, market trends, and subcontractor performance metrics to drive commercial optimization;
• Collaborate with internal departments, including Procurement, Legal, and Project Management, to ensure seamless execution of subletting activities;
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with sub-contractors and vendors to support long-term partnerships;
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance subletting efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction, preferably with MRICS or HKIS professional qualification;
• Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience with at least 3-5 years subletting experience, ideally within contractor;
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience, with a proven track record of independently managing a team of quantity surveyors;
• Experience with Design and Build and/or NEC contracts is highly desirable;
• Strong commercial and contractual acumen;
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
• Strong command of written and spoken Cantonese, English, and Mandarin is essential;
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Senior Subletting Officer.
