Reporting to Assistant General Manager - Projects, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, supervision and delivery of E&M construction works for the company’s building projects, including contractor management, technical submission review, site progress and quality monitoring, stakeholder coordination, testing and commissioning, statutory compliance and project handover.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing construction plans, schedules, work programmes and execution strategies;
- Lead and coordinate the site supervision team in monitoring E&M construction progress, workmanship, installation quality and compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements;
- Supervise & coordinate E&M works with civil, structural, architectural, ICT, security and other project disciplines to resolve interface issues and maintain construction progress;
- Review contractors’ submissions, including shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, risk assessments, inspection and test plans and testing and commissioning procedures;
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, including progress, quality, safety, resources and compliance with contractual and project requirements;
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, and monitor the timely resolution of technical queries, defects, non-conformities and outstanding works;
- Liaise with internal Business Units, consultants, contractors, suppliers, statutory authorities and other external parties on construction matters;
- Monitor the delivery, storage, installation, inspection, and protection of major E&M equipment and materials;
- Coordinate inspection, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing and handover activities;
- Monitor the preparation and completion of project documentation, including inspection records, test reports, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties and handover records;
- Ensure compliance with project quality, health, safety, environmental, statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Report site progress, risk updates, issue logs and other project documentation as required;
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to site engineers, supervisors, inspectors and other project team members; and
- Perform other duties, special projects, and strategic initiatives as assigned, contributing to the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Building Studies, Building Surveying or other related disciplines
- Membership of engineering or construction related professional institutions
- At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant work experience including at least 2 years in a supervisory role with property developers, consultant firms, main contractors, specialist E&M contractors or similar organisations
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing & drainage building services construction.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong sense of responsibility, with a positive and solutions-oriented attitude
- Candidate with more years of experience or qualifications will be considered at higher level of position.
