Job summary

The University of Hong Kong is seeking an IT Officer for the School of Computing and Data Science. The role focuses on developing and maintaining in-house systems, websites, databases and digital tools, with leading involvement in IT projects and lifecycle management.

You will gather user requirements, design pragmatic solutions, and ensure smooth operation of IT services while collaborating with users and stakeholders across the university.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/SE or related field.
• Experience in software/web development, system support or IT project coordination preferred.
• Knowledge of React, Vue.js, Angular, Next.js, Node.js, Express.js, Laravel or Django advantageous.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and implement in-house systems, websites and databases to support daily operations.
• Lead IT projects and oversee the full development cycle from requirements to rollout.
• Gather user requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Maintain and enhance existing systems and assist with database queries and integrations.
