Hong Kong Metropolitan University is seeking an Assistant Director of Information Technology (Digital Transformation) to lead the planning, implementation and maintenance of the University’s Student Information Systems and related services.

We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Information Technology Office:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (Digitalisation and A.I.), the appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

• Providing leadership for the planning, implementation and maintenance of the University’s Student Information Systems as well as related service and applications;
• Overseeing system integration, data quality and process optimisation to ensure efficient and effective information flow across academic schools and administrative offices;
• Collaborating with stakeholders to analyse needs, translate them into system requirements to meet the current and future needs of the University;
• Managing system upgrades, tenders, vendor relationships and project delivery to meet defined timelines and quality standards;
• Supervising an information system team to implement, develop, enhance and maintain ERP as well as other application systems of the University; and
• Performing any other duties as assigned.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

• A recognised degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related disciplines;
• Substantial knowledge and experience in Oracle/PeopleSoft development platform and technical infrastructure, mobile application development, AI implementation, web content management as well as hands‑on experience in the implementation of student administration/ERP systems, admission/applicant website and student self‑service portal, preferably with managerial experience in tertiary institutions;
• Solid and extensive experience in cloud platform administration and configuration is desirable;
• Profound leadership, independent and proactive with good analytical and problem‑solving skills;
• Excellent vendor management, project management and conflict management skills; and
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficient in both English & Chinese.
