Job summary

SPTel Pte Ltd in Hong Kong is seeking a qualified telecom project manager to lead end-to-end deployment of dark fibre, manage patching and SFP activities, and coordinate contractor work across the city.

The role requires hands-on experience with outside plant, GIS familiarity, and strong negotiation and leadership skills to ensure safety, quality, and on-time project closures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, or IT-related field.
• Hands-on experience in passive infrastructure operations (ISP/OSP) is required.
• Strong project management, negotiation and risk assessment abilities.

Responsibilities

• Project manage and lead a program for efficient site survey and deployment of SPTel’s dark fibre from MDF to the non-residential premises.
• Lead the patching and SFP installation activities end to end and verify changes in the SLD.
• Conduct daily roll call meetings and weekly contractor meetings.
• Perform monthly site inspections and ensure safety, quality and SOP compliance.
• Track compliance to claim approvals and WO/PO closures on time.
• Manage conflict resolution regarding payment, access and installation.
• Track operations activities using MS Planner and report results.
• Oversee island-wide diversions and new projects schedule with in-house contractors.
• Review contractor claims and ensure they meet contractual obligations.
• Support service restoration during major incidents and outages.
• Schedule standby support and handle trouble tickets for pre/post-diversion activities.
• Carry out ad hoc duties as assigned.
