Job summary

City University of Hong Kong invites applications for an Engineer in the Centre for Applied Computing and Interactive Media (ACIM) within the School of Creative Media. The successful candidate will manage technical facilities, support research projects, exhibitions, and public programmes, and provide reliable solutions to complex creative-technology challenges.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/CS/Creative Media or related field with at least 5 years of professional experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/CS/Creative Media or related, with at least 5 years’ professional experience in technical support management.
Strong English and Chinese communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently; good troubleshooting skills.
Basic knowledge of Motion Capture and 360-degree Immersive Visualization is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Manage and operate ACIM’s creative technology facilities and related research infrastructure.
Provide technical solutions for interactive media, immersive environments, motion tracking, projection, display, sound, and real-time media systems.
Oversee setup, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting for facilities to ensure reliable operation for research, teaching, public programmes, and events.
Maintain equipment care and inventory, including inspection, calibration, maintenance, and loan management.
Assist in planning exhibitions, installations, tours, workshops, and outreach with on-site support for visitors and VIPs.
