Job summary

Matilda International Hospital is seeking a Cooking & Plating Support to assist the kitchen team in food preparation and plating, ensuring hygiene and food safety in a hospital setting. You will support washing, peeling, chopping, and daily kitchen operations, while maintaining a clean, organized workspace and complying with standards.

The role requires 1–3 years in western/Chinese kitchen environments, a diploma or culinary training, and flexibility for shift duties.

Qualifications

• Diploma or vocational training or culinary school certificate.
• 1–3 years’ relevant experience / knowledge in western / Chinese kitchen setting (preferably gained from hotels / private hospitals).
• Proactive and well organized with attention to details.
• Good team player, able to work in fast pace & dynamic environment, communicate with kitchen staff.
• Shift duties required.
• More experienced candidates may be considered for appropriate position.

Responsibilities

• Supporting cooking teams in ingredients and food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping, dice-cutting, slicing).
• Adhering to goods preservation standards for proper handling of all food materials / products at the right place and temperature.
• Supporting chefs in ensuring hygiene, food safety and correct use of equipment and utensils; maintaining a clean, organized, safe workspace in compliance with standards.
• Providing ad-hoc support to cleaning / cashier / meal delivery team when needed.
• Providing logistics support across various kitchen stations (hot, cold, pastry) during busy service hours.
• Preparing food expiry labels and conducting periodic expiry checks; replenishment as needed.
• Providing operational / administrative support to Chief Chef when needed.
• Learning fundamental culinary knowledge / techniques for daily operation and personal development.
