Job summary

ConnectedGroup Limited is supporting an international non-profit organization in its search for an Assistant Human Resources Director in Hong Kong. The role blends day-to-day operational leadership with ownership of global HR transformation initiatives, reporting to the Global HR Director and working with country teams and external providers across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Senior HR operations or HR leadership experience in a complex, international organisation.
• Strong knowledge of HR operations, governance, policies, systems and service delivery.
• Proven experience leading HR transformation and change initiatives.
• Experience managing payroll services or HR vendors.
• Experience in job evaluation, job architecture or grading.
• Excellent project and stakeholder management with cross‑cultural teams.
• Fluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin desirable.
• Experience in nonprofit/mission-led sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and day-to-day support to the Global HR Director and ensure delivery of global HR priorities.
• Partner with HR colleagues and senior stakeholders to provide practical guidance on workforce-related matters.
• Support workforce planning, organisational development and employee engagement while monitoring performance indicators.
• Lead development and implementation of global HR policies, systems and governance frameworks.
• Lead HR teams and projects, fostering a collaborative, high-performing HR function.
• Lead complex global HR transformation projects from design to implementation and evaluation.
• Conduct review of global payroll operations, with vendor arrangements and governance structures.
• Develop business cases and implementation plans for payroll and HR process improvements.
• Lead review and alignment of global job grading practices across countries.
• Analyse organisational structures and advise on workforce planning and equity.
• Support development of job architecture, grading frameworks and governance processes.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on progress and outcomes.
