Job summary

Furst Asia Limited, a HK-listed IC and microchip trading group, seeks a highly analytical Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage HKEX disclosures, HKFRS/IFRS alignment, treasury and FX risk, and cross-border trade financing, reporting to the CFO. 8–10 years of accounting experience and HKICPA/ACCA membership are required.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity at an HKEX-listed company.
• Active member of HKICPA/ACCA/CPA Australia or equivalent.
• Experience in semiconductor trading, electronic component distribution, or high-velocity global supply chains.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client, a Listed Company in Hong Kong is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations, internal controls, and regulatory compliance of their Hong Kong-listed Integrated Circuit (IC) and microchip trading business. The ideal candidate will manage all financial reporting in strict accordance with HKEX Listing Rules, handle volatile inventory valuations, optimize cross-border trade financing, and mitigate foreign exchange risks inherent in global semiconductor supply chains.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HKEX Disclosures: Lead the preparation of interim reports, annual reports, and monthly management accounts to ensure full compliance with the Main Board or GEM Listing Rules.

HKFRS/IFRS Alignment: Oversee statutory financial statements under Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards, specifically focusing on revenue recognition (HKFRS 15) for complex bill-and-hold trading terms.

Board Communications: Present clear financial performance insights and quarterly forecasts directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Audit Committee.

Supply Chain & Inventory Control

Inventory Valuation: Manage specialized accounting for microchip inventory, including strict tracking of price volatility, obsolescence provisions, and Net Realizable Value (NRV) assessments due to rapid tech life cycles.

Working Capital Optimization: Oversee the Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) by optimizing high-volume accounts receivable (AR) and payable (AP) typical in tech trading.

Gross Margin Analysis: Deliver rigorous cost-benefit analyses on chip sourcing channels, distribution margins, and volume-based supplier rebates.

Treasury, Trade Finance & FX Risk

Foreign Exchange Hedging: Execute robust hedging strategies to mitigate currency risks, as semiconductor trades are primarily denominated in USD, RMB, and JPY.

Cash Flow Management: Forecast daily and multi-month cash positions across multi-currency offshore and onshore bank accounts.

Internal Controls & Corporate Governance

Internal Audits: Maintain an airtight internal control framework satisfying the HKEX Corporate Governance Code.

Tax Optimization: Manage cross-border tax issues, including transfer pricing documentation for chip shipments routing through mainland China, Hong Kong, and global hubs.

Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for top-tier external auditors during interim reviews and annual audits.

REQUIREMENTS

Active member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), ACCA, CPA Australia, or an equivalent recognized accounting body.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a highly quantitative business discipline.

EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE

Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity at an HKEX-listed company.

Proven experience in semiconductor trading, electronic component distribution, or high-velocity global supply chain sectors.

Prior training or employment within a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred.

Advanced proficiency in top-tier ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and business intelligence tools.

Deep, up-to-date knowledge of HKEX Listing Rules, Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO) regulations, and Hong Kong tax law.

Fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese is mandatory; professional-level proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous for regional trade operations.
