Job summary

Hospital Authority is hiring an Eye Care Assistant II (Patient Care Assistant) for Tung Wah Eastern Hospital and Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital under the Hong Kong Island Cluster. The role supports ophthalmic procedures, patient care, and hospital operations, with training provided.

Entry requires HK diploma equivalents and proficiency in English and Chinese; on-the-job training is available. Deadline: 19 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Completed F.5/ S.5 or equivalent with English and Chinese
• 5 subjects passed in HKCEE or HKDSE equivalent
• Corporate Patient Care Assistant training program completed or in training

Responsibilities

• Assist in ophthalmic procedures in consultation/treatment/operating rooms
• Perform ophthalmic and general investigations such as BP, sugar tests, eye drops, imaging and visual tests
• Disinfect and maintain ophthalmic equipment and environment
• Support patient flow, education, and health-promotion activities
• Assist in inventory keeping of medical consumables and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
