Job summary

Eye Institute of Hong Kong (EIHK) in Central is seeking a dedicated Eye Clinic Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports ophthalmologists, conducts preliminary assessments and ensures a clean, well-stocked, efficient clinic environment.

You will greet patients, manage check-ins, assist during examinations, operate ophthalmic equipment, and handle billing inquiries. Training and development opportunities are available within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Frontline patient-facing role supporting ophthalmologists.
• Ability to maintain patient records accurately and confidentially.
• Strong communication across multilingual patient base.
• Calm and efficient in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-in, update records and insurance details.
• Assist ophthalmologists during consultations and eye examinations.
• Perform preliminary assessments including visual acuity testing and screening.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment with proper sterilization and calibration.
• Prepare examination rooms, restock supplies, and keep clinic hygienic.
• Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to minimise wait times.
• Provide patient education on eye care, treatments and aftercare instructions.
• Process patient payments and handle billing inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records in line with regulations.
• Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry and record keeping.
