Chinese International School is seeking an Event Support Assistant to assist the Event Support Engineer in ensuring smooth technical operations for performances, presentations, and public events across CIS venues in Hong Kong. The role requires working days Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and Saturdays, totaling about 40 hours weekly.

The Event Support Assistant supports the Event Support Engineer and is responsible for the smooth technical operations of performances, presentations, and other public events at various CIS performance venues.
Working Days: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday work as scheduled or required
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, with flexibility required to support evening and weekend school events
Job Description
Supervise and monitor access to the performance venues as required and scheduled
Operate performance venue equipment as scheduled for event support
Provide and assist with live streaming or webinars for events if required
Assist other staff in supervising and maintaining the performance venues' sound, lighting, and electronic equipment
Assist staff with supervising the installation and execution of sound, lighting, and rigging designs
Monitor and maintain records of equipment
Help run a preventive maintenance program to maintain, repair, and replace all sound, stage lighting, electronic, video, and rigging equipment when required
Research and help implement new systems and technology so that the CIS performance spaces serve the needs of school programs
Assist in purchasing and budget functions, including recommending new equipment acquisitions
Attend meetings and rehearsals as scheduled
Work with primary and secondary performing arts teams to determine their needs for lighting, sound, and video during the development and rehearsal of productions
Serves as stage manager for productions when needed
Assist with the technical needs of rehearsals and performances as scheduled

Maintain all records, correspondence, etc., in a well-organized and accessible manner
Maintain strict confidentiality of all school and office records
Enforce and ensure compliance with the Chinese International School's regulations pertaining to security, safety, and proper usage of school property
Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures as related to the job responsibilities for this position
Relate courteously and effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members as necessary
Perform other technical support functions in the performing arts as assigned by relevant supervisors
Safety
Supervise the performance venues and ensure they are clean and organized after rehearsals, performances, meetings, assemblies, and ceremonies
Ensure that a safe and orderly work environment is maintained
Ensure safety guidelines at all times
Requirements
Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Technical Theatre, or other relevant diploma in performing arts technical support
Able to operate theatre lighting, sound, and video systems
Knowledgeable in theatre terms and definitions
Able to rectify and possibly take preventive maintenance of professional lighting, sound, and full-stage staging systems efficiently
Computer-literate, especially in theatre and live sound engineering-related software
Knowledge of stagecraft and the use of shop tools is an advantage
Positive work attitude and initiative.
Good English communication skills, both written and oral
Cantonese and/or Mandarin proficiency preferred
Good interpersonal skills, ability to work cooperatively, and ability to provide assistance to other team members as necessary
