Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd is seeking an Assistant Manager for CMU Onboarding in the SME Banking division. You will work with Relationship Managers to validate client profiles, ensure documentation meets SME Banking standards and regulatory requirements, and uphold high standards of compliance and due diligence.

You will lead end-to-end onboarding, verify documentation, perform CDD reviews, and collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Tax teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years' SME banking experience focusing on KYC/AML.
• Strong understanding of SME regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end client approval in SME Banking with adherence to policies.
• Review New Account Opening Documentation for completeness and compliance.
• Perform detailed CDD reviews aligning data with internal controls and regulations.
• Evaluate Source of Wealth documents to meet onboarding criteria.
• Conduct screenings including adverse media, sanctions lists, and tax flags.
• Maintain audit-ready records of onboarding communications and documents.
• Ensure accurate data entry into SME systems and reporting.
• Advise Relationship Managers on CDD policies and regulatory updates.
• Escalate high-risk relationships to SME Compliance and related teams.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Tax to resolve onboarding issues.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.
• Adhere to Turn Around Times (TATs) and SLAs.
