FunctionEight Ltd is a Wan Chai-based IT solutions provider delivering frontline desktop support and IT services to businesses across Hong Kong. The System Support Specialist will handle first and second-line support, maintain desktop environments, and help deploy hardware and software.

The role emphasizes Windows and M365 expertise, security-conscious practices, strong communication in English and Chinese, and the ability to juggle multiple requests while delivering professional service.

Qualifications

• Proven 2–3 years in desktop support or equivalent IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS and M365.
• Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting hardware like printers, monitors, and networks.
• Understanding of IT security best practices and data protection.
• Good command of Chinese and English; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing first and second-line technical support to end-users via telephone, email, and remote assistance tools.
• Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues on desktop and laptop computers.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
• Managing user accounts, access permissions, and password resets in accordance with company security policies.
• Performing routine system maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and antivirus management.
• Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and technical procedures.
• Escalating complex technical issues to senior support staff or vendors when necessary.
• Assisting with the deployment and rollout of new hardware and software across the organisation.
• Supporting the implementation of IT policies and security protocols to protect company data and systems.
• Maintaining a high standard of customer service and professionalism whilst managing multiple support requests.
