Job summary

Shangri-La Group in Hong Kong is seeking a Demi Chef – Bakery (Overnight) to ensure smooth Pastry Kitchen operation and adherence to the chef's specifications.

You will assist with pastry display, conduct food checks, review event orders, and supervise junior staff to keep standards high and operations fair.

The ideal candidate holds Form 5 or a Pastry Production certificate, has 4 years in pastry with 1–2 years in supervision, speaks English and Chinese, and is available for overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Form 5 or a Pastry Production certificate from the Vocational Training Council.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant pastry experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of daily pastry operations, cost control, HACCP and workplace safety.
• Good command of English and Chinese.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts.

About The Role

As a Demi Chef – Bakery (Overnight), you will be focusing on a smooth operation of the Kitchen Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare food production in Pastry Kitchen according to the Chef's specification, requirements and recipes.
• Assist with the display of food items and show pieces.
• Conduct food checks, review event orders and handle food preparation.
• Supervise the work of junior personnel remaining fair and impartial at all times.

About You

• Form 5 or Certificate holder of Pastry production of Vocational Training Council
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience in related professions, with 1-2 years of experience in supervisory position
• Strong understanding of the operation of relevant section including daily operation, cost control, procurement system, HACCP and work safety
• Good command of English and Chinese
• Willingness to work on overnight shift
