Job summary

Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong is seeking a Chef de Partie for Cafe Kool & In Room Dining to deliver exceptional dining experiences with timely, courteous service.

You will lead kitchen operations, uphold hotel standards, and work closely with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency across Cafe Kool and in-room dining.

This role requires Western kitchen expertise, strong leadership, and fluency in English and Cantonese, with a minimum 5 years in hotels.

Qualifications

• Form 5 or Western kitchen certificate from Vocational Training Council.
• At least 5 years in hotels in similar roles; 3 years in supervision.
• Solid understanding of HACCP, cost control, procurement, and safety standards.
• Fluent in English and Cantonese; strong teamwork under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations to meet high food prep and service standards.
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, portions, and freshness per hotel standards.
• Coordinate with restaurant/banquet teams and supervise junior kitchen staff.
• Maintain hygiene, safety and quality across kitchen operations.
• Support cost control through waste reduction and efficient resource use.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

About the Role

As aChef de Partie - Cafe Kool & In Room Dining, you will be focusing on delivering exceptional dining experiences by ensuring timely, courteous and professional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure high standards of food preparation and service.
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, portion control, and freshness according to Hotel standard.
• Coordinate with the team on restaurant / banquet production and supervise junior kitchen staff.
• Maintain hygiene, safety and quality standards in kitchen operations.
• Support cost control through waste reduction, proper storage, and efficient use of resources.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

About You

• Form 5 or certificate holder of western kitchen of vocational training council.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Hotels with similar capacities, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Clear understanding of section operations, cost control, procurement, HACCP, and safety standards.
• Demonstrated teamwork and capability to work under pressure.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese.
