Job summary

Woon Lee Construction Co Ltd is seconded to the Hong Kong Housing Authority to carry out building services design and drafting tasks for a 24-month contract. The role involves updating drawings, coordinating multidisciplinary drawings, checking submissions, and guiding junior staff under the CM.

The incumbent will draft and revise building services drawings, prepare sketches, verify shop drawings, and liaise with professionals and contractors to ensure compliance with regulations and project

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Good skill and experience in AutoCAD drafting and preparation of building services drawings.
• Knowledge of design calculations.
• Good knowledge of statutory Regulations and Code of Practices relating to building services trades.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update drawings for site variations.
• Undertake minor design work and prepare sketches/drawings under the CM.
• Check shop drawings and as-fitted drawings submitted by contractors and others.
• Coordinate architectural, building services, structural and utility drawings.
• Liaise with Housing Department staff, consultants and contractors on design and construction matters.
• Research building services materials, including costs and sources, where applicable.
• Update record drawings and prepare management and programme charts.
• Handle issue/receipt of drawings and maintain proper records.

Job description

The CTA(BS) will be seconded to the Hong Kong Housing Authority to carry out the following:

Job Duties

• Normal Office Hours are either (i) from 08:30 to 17:18 or (ii) from 08:57 to 17:45, Monday to Friday;
• Salary : Monthly Salary will be ranging from HK$25,115 to HK$35,080 (depending on related working experience);
• Contract period: 24 months;
• To prepare and update drawings for site variations;
• To undertakeminor design work and to prepare sketches / drawings under the direction of the CM;
• To check shop drawings and as-fitted drawings submitted by contractors, suppliers and utility companies;
• To coordinate architectural, building services, structural and utility drawings;
• To liaise with professionals, technical officers and site staff of the Housing Department, consultants and contractors where appropriate, on matters related to the design and construction of the project;
• To assist in researching building services materials for use in the contract, including costs and sources of supply, where application;
• To update record drawings and prepare management and programme charts;
• To be responsible for the issue and receipt of drawings and to maintain a proper record of such;
• To arrange printing and transfer of drawings;
• To direct, supervise and control other junior CTA(BS)s, if any, under his charge and to responsible for the checking of drawings prepared by them to ensure compliance with instructions;
• To handle technical problems arising from site difficulties and / or discrepancies in drawings and to refer such matters to the CM or his representatives for direction;
• To resolve simple technical matters which do not require professional expertise;
• To perform other duties as directed by the CM.

Requirements

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in either Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic / Polytechnic University or an institute of vocational education;
• Good skill and experience in AutoCAD drafting, preparation of building services drawings;
• Knowledge of design calculations;
• Good knowledge of statutory Regulations and Code of Practices relating to building services trades.
