Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Diploma or Higher Certificate holder in Civil/Structural Engineering for drafting and design support. The role involves preparing and updating structural drawings, coordinating with Housing Department staff and consultants, and assisting in submission documents.

Secondment to Housing Department's office is expected, with a 24-month contract and salary starting from HK$25,115 per month.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Higher Certificate in Civil or Structural Engineering from HKPU or HK Vocational Education or equivalent.
• Experience in drafting and preparation of structural drawings with knowledge of Hong Kong Building Regulations and Code of Practice.
• Good command of English and Cantonese/Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, check, update and amend structural drawings, details and sketches.
• Assist in carrying out design work on structural elements.
• Liaise with housing department staff, consultants and contractors on design, drafting and technical issues arising from site difficulties and discrepancies in drawings.
• Assist in preparing site instructions and relevant documents for ICU submission, and update as-built drawings.
• Assist in ensuring smooth printing and distribution of drawings.

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (\"the Company\" or \"China State Hong Kong\") started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.

Duties

• To prepare, check, update and amend structural drawings, details and sketches
• To assist in carrying out design work on structural elements
• To arrange for printing and distribution of drawings
• To assist in preparing site instructions for construction
• To assist in preparing relevant documents and drawings for ICU submission
• To assist in updating as-built drawings
• To liaise with professionals, technical officers and site staff of the Housing Department, consultants and contractors where appropriate, in handling matters related to design, drafting, construction work, technical problems arising from site difficulties and/or discrepancies in drawings
• To perform other duties as directed by the CM or the CM’s Representatives

Job Requirements

• Diploma / Higher Certificate or above in either Civil / Structural Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent
• Experience in drafting and preparation of structural drawings together with good knowledge of Hong Kong Building Regulations and Code of Practice
• Good command in English and Cantonese/Mandarin
• Proficient Skill in AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel
• Successful candidate will be seconded to work in Housing Department’s office
• Monthly salary will be starting from $25,115 (depending on related working experience and extra working hours)
• Contract period: 24 months
