Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to provide server, storage and network support within the Government T26 project. You will work full-time under InfoTech headcount, covering data centre operations, security patching, backups, and vendor coordination.

The role requires 3+ years IT experience (2+ in related areas), knowledge of enterprise networks and Linux, and strong written/oral Chinese and English.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT experience with 2+ years in related areas.
• Experience in data centre management or relocation is preferred.
• Familiarity with cabling standards and hardware troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise networks: firewalls, NAC, routing & switching, proxies.
• Linux installation & admin skills are an advantage.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide infrastructure support: installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting.
• Maintain data centre facilities and perform daily operations and inspections.
• Assist with security tasks: patches, cert renewals, logs reviews to meet policies.
• Coordinate with contractors for network provisioning and cabling work.
• Support IT procurement and participate in testing of new IT products.

• Willing to work overtime and on-call as required by the Government.

Project Nature (T26) To provide infrastructure (including servers, storage and networks) support for the Department, and to implement IT projects covering new and existing systems.

Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the FSD;

• To provide infrastructure support, including installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting;
• To maintain data centre facilities and perform daily operations such as cabling, hardware installation, and routine inspection;
• To provide technical support on the departmental services including but not limited to firewalls, network access control, network routing and switching, load balancers, and proxy servers;
• To collaborate with ICT team members and outsourced contractors in the implementation and delivery of IT infrastructure projects;
• To perform IT security tasks such as security patching, firmware updates, certificate renewals, and reviews of user account, system configurations, and security logs to ensure compliance with up-to-date security policies and guidelines;
• To perform regular system monitoring, health checks, system and data backups, disaster recovery drills, and other housekeeping tasks;
• To coordinate with outsourced contractors and telecommunication carriers for network circuit provisioning, structure cabling, hardware replacement, and emergency restoration work;
• To evaluation and assess IT products during procurement and to participate in the testing and implementation of new IT products and devices;
• To maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets, software licenses, and technical documentation;
• To perform any other duties related to the above as assigned by supervisor or the Government Representative from time to time;
• To be able to work under pressure and willing to work overtime if required; and
• To provide on-call technical support duties and perform overtime work, including work outside of normal office hours, on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, as and when necessary and upon the request of the Government Representative.

Requirements

• 1. At least three (3) years&;#8217; post-qualification information technology experience of which at least two (2) years&;#8217; is in related areas;
• 2. Candidates with working experience in data centre management or relocation will be given priority;
• 3. Familiarity with structured cabling standards and hands‑on experience with hardware troubleshooting will be an advantage;
• 4. Experience in supporting enterprise network and infrastructure systems such as firewalls, network access control, network routing and switching, load balancers, proxy servers, and/or system monitoring will be an advantage;
• 5. Experience in Linux system installation and administration will be an advantage;
• 6. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with users and contractors;
• 7. Good written Chinese and English, and fluent spoken Cantonese and English;
• 8. Security vetting is required; and
• 9. The successful candidate may be required to work at more than one FSD work location, including Fire Services Headquarters Building and Fire and Ambulance Services Academy.
