Job summary

Black Sheep Restaurants Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Captain to lead a restaurant section during service, delivering world-class service and memorable guest experiences. You will train teammates, maintain stations, upsell responsibly and ensure all opening, service and closing SOPs are followed.

The role emphasizes cleanliness, onboarding new joiners, ongoing training and a proactive attitude toward guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Create positive and memorable guest experiences by delivering a high level of service.
• Engage guests to understand their needs, exceed expectations and create Champions.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the restaurant story, menus and drinks lists.
• Take full responsibility for section management, table maintenance.
• Seek opportunities to upsell to guests and drive sales by providing knowledgeable and attentive service.
• Share your knowledge to coach the team on hospitality and guest experience best practice, table maintenance and steps of service.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure all stations are clean, orderly and replenished.
• Ensure all opening, teatime and closing SOPs and checklists are followed.
• Champion cleanliness and hygiene standards in the restaurant, following all sanitisation protocols.
• Partake in ongoing on-the-job training to improve personal and team performance.
• Help induct, welcome, support and onboard new joiners.
• Highlight to the Manager personal training and development opportunities.
• Take a keen interest in food, wine, the hospitality industry and happenings across the Black Sheep Restaurants community.
• Nurture a positive working environment, building strong relationships with teammates.

The Captain is the star of the show! Commanding a section during service, the Captain has a passion for hospitality and is committed to delivering memorable guest experiences and world-class service. The Captain has a strong work ethic, natural ability to train fellow teammates and is ready to support team leads with all daily operational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.
