Wonder, a fast-growing payments gateway in Hong Kong, seeks a strategic expansion professional to lead international market entry efforts. You will work with the Project Director to build Wonder into a household brand across Asia Pacific, tailoring product materials and onboarding for merchants.

You will conduct market research, assess regulatory requirements, and coordinate with legal, compliance and financial teams to secure licenses and partnerships.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in law, finance or related discipline.
• Min. 1 year of experience in top-tier management consulting, investment banking or corporate development.
• Understanding of payments and FinTech in Hong Kong and APAC.
• Strong finance and tech intuition for B2B payments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Independent, self-motivated and quick to learn.
• Experience in international expansion is a plus.

What You Will Do:

• Work with Project Director to strategize and implement plans for international market entry, and build Wonder into a household brand in the payments and FinTech space.
• Track milestones, prepare pitch decks, and ensure smooth execution of expansion initiatives across learns.
• Help design workflows, onboarding process and localized product materials for merchants.
• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential international markets, assessing economic conditions, competition, and consumer behaviour.
• Analyse and document regulatory requirements for target international markets, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, including licensing and reporting mandates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and local authorities to facilitate the licensing process and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory licenses and business operations.
• Establish and manage relationships with payment schemes and financial institutions in target markets to support operational capabilities.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations and proposals for stakeholders, outlining findings from market analysis, regulatory assessments, and partnership opportunities.
• Facilitate internal and external audits related to international operations, ensuring transparency and adherence to local regulations.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including finance and technology, to develop systems and processes that support international expansion and regulatory compliance.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in law, finance or related discipline.
• Min. 1 Year of experience in "Big 3" management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, management trainee, project management and other relevant experience.
• Adequate understanding of the payments and Fintech space in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.
• Natural intuition on finance and technology particularly in the B2B payments space.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Creative and ability to think outside the box.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Learn quickly and remain open-minded at all times.
• Plus: Previous experience at management consulting firms with the relevant department.
• Plus: Previous experience in executing international expansion in the APAC market.
• Plus: Previous experience as a founder or working within an early-stage startup environment.
