Job summary

Vanderlande in Hong Kong is seeking an IT Application Support Engineer to provide 24x7 operational support for BHS software. The role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows/Linux environments and Oracle-based components, including WebLogic and integrations with XML/Java logs.

You will collaborate with Helpdesk, vendors, and airport operations, handling incidents, deployments, and system health improvements. Shift-based duties at HKIA are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with 5+ years in software/support or IT operations.
• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining BHS software or similar mission-critical systems.
• Proficient in analyzing logs (Java/XML) and using incident-management tools.

Responsibilities

• System Monitoring & Health Check: daily checks of BHS software, databases, and interfaces.
• Incident & Problem Management: investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, document actions.
• System Maintenance & Change: coordinate backups, patches, and upgrades; participate in testing.
• Database & Middleware: basic Oracle DB maintenance, monitor Oracle WebLogic servers.
• Documentation & Reporting: maintain configs, changes, and performance reports.
• Collaboration & Communication: coordinate with Helpdesk, vendors, and operations; on-site or remote support.
