Job summary

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's ITSO invites applications for a senior AV/IT position. The appointee will design, implement and maintain AV systems and related IT infrastructure to support teaching, research and administrative activities.

We require a bachelor’s degree or higher diploma with at least 5 years of relevant AV experience, fluent in English and Chinese (Putonghua), and strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.

Job description

The Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University. ITSO also champions the wise use of Audio Visual (AV) and IT technologies for learning, research and administrative activities. High-caliber professionals in the AV and IT areas are invited to apply for the following position:

The appointee will perform AV and IT related duties that are in line with the strategic priorities of the University and ITSO. These duties include but are not limited to development, design, evaluation, implementation, program and setup of AV systems and equipment. The appointee is required to provide ongoing support and maintenance to AV systems and equipment, and to assist project planning and tender drafting. The appointee is expected to keep abreast of trends, best practices and new technologies of the AV market.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or a higher diploma/certificate, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the AV field. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), sound analytical trouble‑shooting ability, and good interpersonal skills are required. Fluency in digital AV and AV-over-IP technologies and their integration with IT technologies is a must. Experience in desktop computing software and networking technologies would be advantageous. Working overtime and during odd hours may be required.

Continuous professional development and on-job training will be provided to the suitable candidate. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
