Job summary

HKU Med – The University of Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant IT Manager / Software Developer for the School of Clinical Medicine. The role covers maintenance, enhancement and development of applications and systems for teaching and learning, with responsibility for Moodle and Panopto platforms and IT support across events and operations.

A two-year fixed-term appointment is offered, with contract-end gratuity and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification IT experience.
• Experience with web applications and automating administrative workflows is a plus.
• Fresh graduates may apply for IT Technician rank.

• Maintain, enhance and develop applications/systems for frontline teaching and learning operations.

Job description

Assistant IT Manager / Software Developer (at the rank of IT Officer / IT Technician) in the School of Clinical Medicine (several posts) (Ref.: 537175) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the IT industry. Experience in web applications, system maintenance/development that would automate administrative work processes and enhance workflow within the context of an educational institution would be an advantage. Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fresh graduates who are highly motivated may also be considered for appointment at IT Technician rank.

The appointees will be responsible for maintenance, enhancement and development of applications/systems for frontline operations in teaching and learning, including the Moodle and Panopto platforms, as well as IT support for different systems and events.
