Job summary

Marsh (Hong Kong) Limited seeks a senior professional to lead its Marine Broking team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on strategic client advisory, risk assessment and ensuring strong service delivery.

You will train and mentor a sizable team, coordinate workload, and collaborate with carriers on renewals and placements. English and Chinese language fluency is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree holder or above.
  • With valid broker license.
  • At least 8-10 years’ working experience in broking industry preferably in Marine specialty.
  • Proficient PC Skills, including Word, Excel & Power Point is critical.
  • Pro-active, self-driven, solution-focused and detail-oriented with strong skills in client relationship management.
  • Language fluency in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice on clients' business strategic priorities, risk strategies and risk management needs.
  • Reviews clients' exposures and loss experience to develop solutions for moderately complex clients needs.
  • Presents, develops and executes renewal/placement strategies with the Placement, Advisory Leader and Client Executive.
  • Negotiates and evaluates quotes from carriers with Placement.
  • Participates in presentations to prospective clients and develops innovative solutions to gain clients and projects.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients; primary contact for difficult service needs.
  • Coordinates production of client deliverables, monitors delivery and invoicing.
  • Contributes to the firm’s knowledge base on changing market conditions.

Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marine Broking team. This role will be based in Hong Kong.

We will count on you to:

Trains, mentors and oversees performance management for a medium or large team, coordinates and oversees workload of team members and ensures team is appropriately staffed to meet client needs.

Cultivates a deep understanding of the clients' business strategic priorities, risk strategies and risk management needs and provides advice accordingly to successfully serve clients.

Utilizes substantial risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance market place to review clients' exposures and loss experience and develop solutions for moderately complex clients needs, including recommending additional products and services as solutions.

Presents, develops and executes renewal/placement strategies in conjunction with the Placement, Advisory Leader and Client Executive and executes in accordance with client instructions.

Partners with Placement to receive, negotiate and evaluate quotes from carriers and presents the evaluations to clients.

Participates in presentations to prospective clients, identifies the need for new products and develops/suggests innovative solutions to client and client team members to gain clients and projects.

Builds and maintains relationships with clients, and is the primary point of contact for difficult service needs.

Coordinates the production of client deliverables, including monitoring delivery and invoicing to ensure the quality of materials.

Has an in-depth knowledge of changing market conditions and contributes to the firm’s body of knowledge within product line through active internal communication.

What you need to have:

Bachelor degree holder or above

With valid broker license

At least 8-10 years’ working experience in broking industry preferably in Marine specialty
