Marsh Risk is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join its Casualty Placement team in Hong Kong. The role requires leveraging risk expertise to develop placement solutions, implementing growth-focused strategies, and coordinating with carriers to secure quotes and binding coverage.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in general insurance broking for P&C; casualty underwriting background preferred.
  • Experience negotiating with underwriters for best terms and conditions for P&C placements.
  • Good understanding of policies, contracts and facilities.
  • Knowledge of the Hong Kong brokerage industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Chinese, English and Mandarin.

  • Advises on market conditions and informs client executives, advisors, and clients of major developments affecting products/coverage.
  • Interfaces with client executives and teams to support client retention and new business production.
  • Drives senior placement/technical support activities on assigned accounts, ensuring compliance and accurate system entries.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Casualty Placement team. This role will be based in Hong Kong.

We will count on you to:

Uses significant risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that meet client needs.

Implements the placement strategy to achieve growth goals and provide exceptional client service.

Develops the go-to-market strategy and articulates the value of placement function and participates within pricing of services as applicable.

Facilitates submission of coverage specifications and obtains quotes from carriers based upon the “assist, advise, and assume” transaction model.

Binds coverage and is responsible for the accuracy of placement binders.

Creates and maintains relationships with practice, insurance markets, clients carriers and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service.

Advises on changing insurance and risk management market conditions and informs client executives, client advisors, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of products/coverage.

Interfaces closely with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production.

Drives senior placement/technical support activities on assigned accounts, such as ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, to ensure contract execution as required.

Advises on changing insurance and risk management market conditions, and inform Client Executives, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of products/coverage.

What you need to have:

At least 5 years’ experience not limited to placement but general insurance broking for P&C, an underwriting background in casualty is highly preferable

Experience of handing negotiation with underwriters for best terms and conditions to our clients around P&C placements

Good understanding of policies, contracts and Facilities

Knowledge of the brokerage industry in Hong Kong

Excellent organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines

Excellent interpersonal skills

Proficient in Chinese, English and Mandarin.
