Job summary

HKT in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Network Engineer to support BAU operations, configuring routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs and proxies. You will monitor and maintain security tools and respond to alerts round-the-clock, addressing incidents and vulnerabilities to safeguard the network and data assets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in network/security operations, with familiarity across Cisco, Fortinet, PA, SASE, NDR and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years in network and security operations.
• Solid understanding of network/security principles and technologies.
• Experience with routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, IDS/IPS, VPN, and vulnerability scanners.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewall, VPN, and proxy policies as part of BAU tasks.
• Support network and security components 24/7 across router, switch, Wi‑Fi, firewall, VPN, proxy and security tools.
• Deploy and manage network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, SIEM, EDR) to track performance and security.
• Promptly investigate and address security alerts, incidents and breaches.
• Handle security events in a 24/7 environment to identify threats and vulnerabilities.

Perform operational tasks such as implementing and configuring router, switch, Wi-Fi system, firewall, VPN, and proxy policies as part of Business As Usual (BAU) activities

Support network and security components round-the-clock in areas such as router, switch, Wi-Fi system, firewall, VPN, proxy, and various security tools like NSPM, SASE and NDR.

Deploy and manage network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Darktrace, CrowdStrike, SIEM to track network performance and security

Promptly investigate and address security alerts, incidents, and breaches with efficiency.

Handle security events and incidents in a 24/7 environment to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities

To Succeed in the Role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in network and security operation role
• Strong understanding of network and security principles, practices, and technologies
• Experience with network and security tools such as router, switch, Wi-Fi system, firewall, VPN, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners
• Knowledge in Cisco, H3C, Aruba AC, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks (PA), Sangfor, Hillstone, Huawei, as well as other network and security components such as Ivanti VPN, MobileIron, Darktrace, NAC, Proxy, among others
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCNA, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are a plus
