Qualifications

  • Six+ years in technology, start‑up or innovation ecosystem development.

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Ability to plan, deliver training and manage multi‑stakeholder events.

Assistant Manager – OPC Hub Development (Ref#AMOPC20260817J)

The Manager / Assistant Manager will support the development of OPC Hub @ Cyberport, a dedicated platform for One-Person Companies—solo founders and lean, highly automated teams that use agentic AI and related technologies to build and scale their businesses. Reporting within the Blockchain & Digital Asset Team, the role will focus on OPC community development, founder engagement, resource connection, partnership development, events and programme delivery. The incumbent will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to turn member needs into practical support, growth opportunities and measurable community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a community plan that strengthens engagement, collaboration and peer learning among OPC members.

Build trusted relationships with founders, understand their business objectives and emerging needs, and maintain regular, structured engagement.

Connect OPC members with relevant resources and opportunities across technology, funding, market access, business development, cybersecurity, professional services, talent, publicity and the wider Cyberport ecosystem.

Facilitate targeted introductions and business matching involving investors, corporates, technology providers, mentors, professional advisers, universities, industry associations and ecosystem partners, and follow up on outcomes.

Plan and deliver training, workshops, founder sharing sessions, networking activities, roundtables, demo days, mentorship activities and other community programmes based on member needs and market developments.

Identify, develop and manage partnerships that provide practical benefits to OPC members, including training, market access, investor engagement, technology enablement, cybersecurity, marketing and professional support.

Prepare partnership proposals and coordinate objectives, contributions, deliverables, timelines, communications and follow‑up with internal and external stakeholders.

Work across relevant teams to align member services, partner support and community initiatives.

Identify and promote member success stories, use cases and good practices for ecosystem development, management reporting, showcases and external communications.

Maintain structured records of member needs, engagements, referrals, partner activities, participation, feedback and outcomes; prepare concise project updates, dashboards and management reports.

Monitor developments in agentic AI, blockchain, digital assets, cybersecurity and technology entrepreneurship, and translate relevant insights into programmes, partnerships and recommendations for continuous improvement of OPC Hub.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

More than six years of relevant experience in technology, start-up or innovation ecosystem development, community development, partnership or business development, programme management, incubators, accelerators or related fields.

A recognised bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, entrepreneurship, innovation or technology management, marketing, communications, or another discipline relevant to the responsibilities of the position.

A relevant postgraduate degree, professional qualification or recognised training in areas such as artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship, programme or project management, community development, partnership management or marketing would be an advantage.

Strong community‑building, stakeholder‑engagement and partnership‑development skills, with the ability to establish trusted relationships and connect member needs with relevant resources.

Sound understanding of agentic AI, generative AI, blockchain, digital assets, cloud, cybersecurity or related emerging technologies and their practical business applications.

Strong project, programme and event management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, schedules and deliverables effectively.

Good business acumen, negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage founders, senior executives, investors, partners, technical specialists and public‑sector stakeholders.

Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.

Analytical, organised, proactive and resourceful, with the ability to capture insights, track outcomes and work effectively in a fast‑evolving start‑up and technology environment.

Strong digital literacy and proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office applications to prepare professional documents and presentations, manage and analyse data etc. Ability to use Microsoft Copilot and / or other approved AI tools effectively and responsibly to support research, content development, data analysis, workflow efficiency and knowledge management, with appropriate attention to accuracy, confidentiality and information security.

Demonstrated experience in engaging founders or start‑ups, assessing business needs and connecting companies with relevant resources, partners or growth opportunities.

Hands‑on experience in planning and delivering training programmes, workshops, networking activities, demo days, community events or similar initiatives.

Experience in developing and managing partnerships with corporates, technology providers, investors, professional service firms, universities, industry associations or community organisations.

Candidates with more experience may be considered for the Manager level.

The position is on a 12-month temporary contract, renewal depends on performance and operation needs.
