Job summary

Hong Kong International Airport is seeking an Assistant Manager, IT to lead IT operations and drive system reliability in a complex data center environment. You will conduct system audits, optimize monitoring, and oversee capacity planning with VMware, SAN storage, DCIM, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in IT systems administration with 2–3 years in IT operations management.
• Experience with VMware, SAN storage, DCIM, Telemetry Gateway, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or cloud platforms.
• ITIL v3 or above certification preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent English and Chinese; Putonghua a plus.

Job Description - Assistant Manager, IT (263037)

Responsibilities

• Conduct system audits to ensure compliance with IT operational standards, collaborate with support teams to address issues, and report findings to Line Manager
• Optimize system remote monitoring with SOCC and delivery teams, prioritize critical alerts, and develop improved monitoring solutions for better reliability.
• Facilitate capacity planning, ensuring thorough reviews and accurate reports by support teams, and provide oversight and support for future growth.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on automation and resource optimization and to enhance efficiency and adapt to evolving technology and renovation needs.
• Representing IT Operations in projects, ensuring operational requirements are met, facilitating smooth handovers and integration with daily operations.

Requirements

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines with at least 6 years of relevant experience on IT systems administration, including Data center operation, technical support and drill management, of which with at least 2-3 years proven experience in IT Operations management
• Experience in supporting VMware, SAN storage, DCIM (SNMP/ModBus/LoRaWan), Telemetry Gateway, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or multi-vendor cloud platform etc
• Certification in relevant technologies e.g. MS windows / RHEL will be definitely advantageous
• Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or above is preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese with knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage
• Holder of a valid HK driving license (Class 1, 2) is preferred
