Job summary

Randstad Hong Kong Limited is seeking an experienced Assistant IT Manager to oversee core logistics systems, drive software delivery initiatives, and lead vendor and internal development teams across global supply chains.

You will manage end-to-end IT projects, supervise EDI/API/XML integrations, and ensure security, reliability, and regulatory compliance within 3PL logistics environments. Mandarin and English language skills are required.

Qualifications

• Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or related field.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or Agile certifications are highly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with EDI, XML, or API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end IT projects, timelines, budgets, and risk.
• Mentor software developers to ensure quality solutions.
• Oversee core logistics platforms: Warehouse Management, Transportation, and Supply Chain systems.
• Supervise EDI environment; API/XML integrations and fixes.
• Lead UAT and present system demos to stakeholders.

Our client, a global leader in international freight forwarding and logistics, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Assistant IT Manager to oversee their core logistics systems and lead software delivery initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Project Management & Delivery: Manage end-to-end IT projects, oversee project risk management, and ensure deliverables meet business requirements, timelines, and budgets.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative culture and ensuring high-quality software solutions.
• Core Logistics Systems Oversight: Oversee the optimization, development, and day-to-day stability of critical logistics platforms (Warehouse Management, Transportation, and Supply Chain systems).
• EDI & Integration Management: Supervise and support the EDI environment, including API/XML integrations, troubleshooting, and bug fixes.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, document results, and present system demonstrations to key business stakeholders.
• Security & Governance: Ensure system reliability, data protection, and scalability by executing disaster recovery plans and adhering to IT security best practices.
• Global Collaboration: Work closely with regional and global business units to align IT initiatives with international compliance and organizational goals.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, or Agile certifications are highly preferred.
• Technical & Industry Experience:
  • Proven experience in 3PL, supply chain solutions, or logistics systems.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with EDI, XML, or API integrations.
  • Strong background in software development processes and modern IT infrastructure/security frameworks.
  • Experience with FMCG or complex 3PL environments is a strong plus.
• Soft Skills: Self-motivated, adept at managing tight project deadlines, and comfortable working in a multi-cultural team.
• Languages: Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
