Job summary

JLL in Hong Kong seeks a capable Data Center Technician with 3–5 years of DC operations experience to support provisioning, hardware upgrades and cabling tasks on site. You will collaborate with DC managers and clients to ensure efficient provisioning and maintenance of DC infrastructure.

You will also manage stock of patch/power cords and SFPs, monitor environmental and CCTV feeds, and handle onsite logistics. Overnight swaps and ad hoc duties are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Data Center operational experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft server products.
• Expert knowledge of PC and Server hardware and networking.
• Expert understanding of Data Center power schemes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review pipeline entry requests and advise on provisioning in DC with input from DC managers and clients.
• Handle ServiceNOW incident and change tickets including hardware upgrades, installations, relocations, decommissions, cabling, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
• Manage stock of patch cords, power cords and SFPs.
• Remove unused cabling and power cords.
• Label patch cables and devices.
• Prepare implementation details for records (DDF/DLD) and raise changes for physical implementation.
• Monitor environmental readings and CCTV visuals to report errors.
• Provide onsite logistics support as assigned by site manager.
• Overnight and swap site duty is expected.
• Perform adhoc duties as assigned by managers.

• Review Pipeline entry requests to ascertain on how these boxes can be provisioned in the DC with recommendation from the DC managers & client as required
• Implementing the ServiceNOW incident and changes tickets (involves hardware upgrades, new hardware installations, server relocations, decommissions, configuration for accessibility, patching and laying cables from installed device to assigned switch ports, troubleshooting, escort vendors, etc...)
• Manage stock of patch cords / power cords and SFPs as required
• Removal of unused cabling and power cords as required
• Implement labelling of patch cables and devices
• Details of the implementation (Patching details and cabinet location detail) for their records which are mostly comprised in Detail Design Form (DDF / DLD etc, ) or equivalent and raise relevant changes for physical implementation
