Job summary

Morgan Mckinley Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to plan, implement and manage Unix/Linux servers, SAN storage and backup environments.

You will lead OS upgrades, automate patching and monitoring, and coordinate data center operations and vendor engagements. Strong knowledge of networking and scripting is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience supporting Unix/Linux systems and SAN storage
• Experience with backup tools such as CommVault and NetBackup
• Hands-on data center operations experience including cabling and hardware handling
• Knowledge of networks: Ethernet, VLAN, IP routing
• Familiarity with Ansible and shell scripting is advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and vendor management skills
• Excellent communication and ability to support production issues out of hours

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, configure, and administer Unix/Linux servers, SAN storage, SAN switches, and backup environments

• Serve as the infrastructure focal point to support business deployments, disaster recovery, and technology refresh initiatives
• Enforce problem and change management procedures and provide Tier 3 escalation support

Job description

Plan, implement, configure, and administer servers (Unix/Linux), SAN storage, SAN switches, and backup environments.

Perform OS upgrades, system patching, administration, and SAN storage end-of-life migrations.

Evaluate and implement automation for patching, capacity monitoring, configuration management, and backup/recovery processes.

Manage data center operations, including hardware installation/removal, cabling, equipment handling, and vendor replacement arrangements.

Serve as the infrastructure focal point to support business application deployments, disaster recovery strategies, and bank-wide technology refresh initiatives.

Enforce problem and change management procedures, and provide Tier 3 escalation support for outsourcing vendors.

Requirements

Experience & Technical Skills: Minimum 8 years of experience supporting Unix/Linux systems, backup tools (CommVault/Netbackup), and SAN storage/switch administration.

Operations & Networking: Hands-on data center operational experience (cabling, server specifications) along with good knowledge of network protocols (Ethernet, VLAN, routing, IP).

Scripting & Automation: Familiarity with Ansible and shell scripting is an advantage.

Vendor & Incident Management: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and vendor management skills to oversee project implementation, BAU support, and Tier 3 issue resolution.

Communication & Availability: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the flexibility to support production issues during non-office hours.
