Job summary

AS Watson Retail (HK) Limited is seeking a qualified finance professional to join Group Finance - Finance Shared Service (Retail Hong Kong). You will lead month-end close, prepare timely financial reporting for assigned entities, and support governance and continuous improvements.

The role requires strong technical accounting, reconciliations, and effective communication with stakeholders; experience with ERP systems (Oracle/SAP) is preferred; HKICPA/ACCA is a plus; Hong Kong-based role with

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise in month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and general ledger processes.
• Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP) and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end closing activities and ensure timely delivery of financial reporting for assigned entities.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and intercompany transactions.
• Review balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, resolving issues promptly.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Oversee outputs from shared service teams and external providers for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate audits and prepare supporting schedules and documentation.
• Drive process standardization, automation, and control enhancements using data-driven approaches.
• Support finance initiatives to improve efficiency and customer experience across O+O.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead month-end closing activities and ensure timely delivery of financial reporting for assigned entities.
• Review and approve journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and intercompany transactions.

• Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters effectively.
• Coordinate audit activities and ensure quality preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
• Drive process standardization, simplification, automation, and control enhancements using a scientific and data-driven approach.
• Support Finance initiatives that improve efficiency and enhance internal customer experience across our O+O business.

What You’ll Bring:

• Relevant accounting experience in a multinational, shared service, or complex business environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise in month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, Group policies, and general ledger processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, or other ERP systems is an advantage.
• Professional qualification such as HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a scientific and data-driven mindset.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach to working.
• High attention to detail, accountability, and a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands, guide team members, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
