WE-PLUS HK LIMITED in Hong Kong seeks a trading application support specialist to maintain equities/derivatives platforms for APAC markets. You will work with traders and technologists to ensure stability of mission-critical applications on Linux and will troubleshoot issues in production.
Requirements include 1–2 years in trading app support, strong Linux/Unix skills, Python, and familiarity with monitoring tools. English fluency is essential, Cantonese/Mandarin are a plus.
You will join the electronic trading support team of a global banking institution, providing front-line production support for equities and derivatives trading platforms across APAC markets. Working alongside traders and technologists, you will ensure the stability and performance of mission-critical trading applications in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Support equities and derivatives trading/pricing applications (Stocks, ETF, Warrants, Options & Futures) across APAC markets on Linux platforms
Troubleshoot and diagnose functional and technical issues in the production environment
Manage and track daily production problems and user requests; ensure timely resolution and clear communication to stakeholders
Report bugs back to local and overseas development teams
Handle business-driven or exchange-driven projects, including system enhancements and market-driven change initiatives
Conduct system Quality Assurance testing; perform deployment or upgrade of mission-critical trading applications and systems
Monitor system performance and operations; proactively identify and address any issues to ensure optimal system availability
Follow ITIL Application Support methodology for incident escalation and system change management procedures
Provide and maintain system and process documentation
Rotational shift duties required (morning/lunch shifts, weekend and holiday support as per roster)
University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in trading application support, preferably within a financial services or investment banking environment
Strong technical and scripting knowledge in Linux/Unix environments
Proficiency with Python in both Linux and Windows environments
Experience with system monitoring tools
Experience with batch scheduling systems
Good business knowledge of cash and derivatives products and market rules
Knowledge of Equities Derivatives pricing methods is an advantage
Strong decision-making and analytical skills

Ability to innovate and solve problems under pressure
Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent in English (Cantonese/Mandarin a plus)
