Job summary

Accountstaff (EA) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a portfolio of accounting clients and manage a team of professionals. You will oversee engagements, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality accounting and advisory services across industries.

The successful candidate will drive client relationships, operational excellence, and growth of the accounting services practice, including mentoring staff and promoting best practices in financial reporting under HKFRS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA / HKICPA / ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 6–8 years of accounting experience in public accounting, outsourcing, or professional services.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and leading teams.
• Strong knowledge of HKFRS and payroll/compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounting and outsourced clients across various industries.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on accounting and compliance matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high service quality and satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value-added services to clients.
• Review and oversee the preparation of full sets of accounts and management reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with HKFRS and other regulations.
• Review month-end and year-end closing processes for client engagements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and senior accountants.
• Review work completed by team members and provide guidance.
• Provide advisory support on accounting processes, financial reporting, and operational improvements.
• Support digital transformation initiatives and adoption of accounting technologies.

Business Advisory & Process Improvement

• Provide advisory support to clients on accounting processes, financial reporting, and operational improvements.
• Support digital transformation initiatives and adoption of accounting technologies.
• Participate in internal projects aimed at improving service delivery and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA, HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Minimum 6 to 8 years of accounting experience, preferably gained in a public accounting, outsourcing, or professional services environment.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• At least 2 to 3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong accounting standards, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements.
