Building Craft Operative Band 4 - £27,485 - £30,162 per annum 37.5 hours per week Base - Derwent Centre, Harlow
To carry out a wide range of building fabric repairs, maintenance, and minor improvement works across EPUT properties, ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The postholder will work as part of the in-house Estates team, supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with NHS standards, Trust policies, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Undertake planned preventive maintenance (PPM), repairs, and minor works to the building fabric, including carpentry, joinery, plastering, painting, and basic plumbing or tiling as required.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, ensuring works are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Assist with the installation of fixtures, fittings, and equipment in accordance with Trust requirements and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out, materials used, and time taken using Trust systems (e.g., CAFM).
Identify and report building-related health and safety risks, defects, or hazards during the course of work.
Support other Estates trades (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) when required and within competency.
Participate in an on-call rota (if applicable), responding to emergency repairs out of hours.
Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Trust policies.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in good condition, ensuring safe and effective use.
Drive to various Trust sites using a Trust vehicle as part of the mobile maintenance team.

This includes reactive maintenance, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and supporting capital schemes where applicable. The postholder is expected to work independently and as part of a team, using their experience and technical knowledge to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
The role may include participation in the Trusts on-call rota (if applicable), and travel across multiple Trust sites using a Trust vehicle.
