Job summary
A leading aerospace consultancy is looking for a Lead Project Planner to oversee project controls within complex engineering development projects in Luton. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of P6 scheduling, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coach cross-functional teams. This contract role requires 90% onsite presence until August 2026, with potential for extension. Competitive arrangements and collaboration with senior stakeholders are expected.
Qualifications
- Ability to coach and mentor cross functional members of a bid team in planning and scheduling best practice.
- Ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and recognize and positively interact with stakeholders up to VP level.
- Ability to work independently, in compliance with all procedures and able to recognize appropriate escalation scenarios.
- Application of Schedule Risk Analysis including identification, methods of analysis and recommendations for management.
- Comprehensive and demonstrable Project Controls experience with proven expertise in bid phase and complex engineering development projects.

- Lead Planner for a complex design and development bid, managing project controls for proposals.
- Manage a portfolio level response from the Electronics Warfare line of business.
- Conduct schedule activity in P6 and support the bid team in understanding project controls best practices.

Morson Talent currently have an opportunity available for a Lead Project Planner to work on behalf of our Aerospace clients based in Luton. This is a contract until August 2026, with possibility of extension.
- Lead Planner for a complex design and development bid, responsible for the quality and integrity of the project controls aspects required to submit a secure and compelling proposal.
- Manage a portfolio level response from the Electronics Warfare line of business which will require collaboration and cross functional working to deliver required outcomes.
- All schedule activity will be conducted in P6 and use Primavera risk analyser; must be an expert user in this with the ability to coach and support the bid team in the understanding of project controls best practice.
- Leadership experience and ability to work independently.
- Ability to coach and mentor cross functional members of a bid team in planning and scheduling best practice.
- Ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and recognise and positively interact with stakeholders up to VP level.

- APMG Project Controls Practitioner.
90% onsite.
