We are seeking an Level 3 Early Years Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Sythwood Primary School, part of Bourne Education Trust.

As a learning support assistant, you will be responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners. Ensuring the effective support of pupil welfare and the inclusion of all pupils in all aspects of school life in line with school and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and the values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.

Sythwood is a larger primary school, of around 550 children. It provides education from two-year-olds to the end of year 6. Sythwood celebrates children and staff from a range of ethnicities and cultures. Around 60% of children learn English as an Additional Language.

Sythwood is a truly inclusive school. The number of children with additional needs is higher than average. The significant areas of needs are: Moderate Learning Difficulty, Speech, Language and Communication and Vision Impairment. The school has a Specialist Centre for children with Vision Impairment. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for Free School Meals is above average. The school motto, "Be Ready, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Your Best," is interwoven throughout our curriculum. It is the language we use, the behaviours we model and expect and the aspirations we hold. Position: Early Years Learning Support Assistant

Contract: Part time, permanent (term time only)

Hours: 31.25 hours per week, 37 weeks per year

Start Date: 1st September 2025

• Ensure children are safe and nurtured.

• Promote and support the development of pupils’ social and emotional needs.

Requirements include:

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification).

• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children

• Relevant experience of working with children in an education setting

• Relevant supporting qualifications in childcare, safeguarding or paediatric first aid
