A leading development company in Redhill is seeking a Planning Manager to oversee the planning function for large-scale development projects. The candidate should possess a degree, MRTPI accreditation, and at least 7 years of experience in the private sector, preferably within residential development. The successful candidate should be educated to degree level with relevant Town Planning knowledge and MRTPI accreditation.
Minimum of 7 years post-qualification private sector experience working either for a residential developer or in the residential team of a planning & development consultancy.
The role requires a forward-thinking, proactive approach, essential from land bid stage through to securing planning permission. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business managing a significant strategic portfolio.
You will manage the planning function from site identification to delivery of infrastructure, including creation of planning strategies, monitoring and discharging planning commitments and conditions, and promotion of planning applications.
The role is deadline-driven; you must be reliable, flexible, and able to act on your own initiative.
Expert knowledge of current government legislation and planning policy is essential, along with the ability to provide well-considered appraisals on the planning prospects of potential sites.
You will be responsible for managing the company’s large-scale development projects, ensuring all development control matters, planning obligations, conditions, and phased reserved matters applications are carefully managed, in addition to promoting large-scale strategic sites through the planning system.
Line management responsibilities will be required; therefore, excellent leadership skills are essential.
