AI-Driven Optimisation of Biomethane

Intelligest is an AI-powered SaaS platform revolutionising biomethane production. We help agricultural, industrial, and food waste plants optimise biomethane output by up to 30%, reduce operational costs by up to 20%, and unlock advanced operational visibility through data and analytics.

We address a critical global challenge: 70 billion tonnes of organic waste are produced annually, representing a massive decarbonisation opportunity. Biomethane is a scalable, immediate solution, and Intelligest is here to make it smarter, cleaner, and more profitable.

The Role

We are seeking a senior Biogas Expert Cofounder to join Intelligest as a core team member and co-founder-level contributor. This individual must be able to commit full-time, bring deep biogas industry experience, and help drive our mission during this critical pre-funding phase. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the technical development of our platform, especially in integrating biological processes with real-time data analytics and sensor systems.

The role will be compensated with a strong equity package and equity + salary from September once funding is secured

Key responsibilities

• Biology-driven optimisation: work closely with the AI/ML team to integrate biological models into the optimisation tools.
• Sensor and data integration: support the SCADA/PLC systems integration to provide real-time biological process feedback.
• Collaboration and leadership: work alongside the founding team to define product features, data flows, and scalable system architecture rooted in real plant biology.
• Customer interaction: engage with partner facilities to test, iterate, and validate solutions in live environments to deliver results to the customers.

Must-have qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience and strong network in biogas.
• Demonstrated success with biological process control, sensor integration, and plant optimisation.
• Knowledge of anaerobic digestion microbiology and process chemistry.
• Comfort with early-stage startup risks and high uncertainty, must be committed to helping secure future funding.
• Willingness to work full-time on an equity-only basis in the initial phase for the first 3-6 months, before transitioning to a blended salary/equity model

Nice-to-have skills:

• Familiarity with AI/data-driven tools for process optimisation.
• Experience with SCADA/PLC, IIoT, and real-time monitoring systems.
• Past experience collaborating with software teams on industrial SaaS products.
