Innovation Project Manager - London

The Role

As an Innovation Project Manager in the Innovation Programmes team, you will manage innovation projects from ideation to implementation, supporting the Head of Innovation and Technology Partnerships. You will work on projects with universities, SMEs, and industrial partners, focusing on AI, autonomy, underwater vehicles, and more. The role is based at our Innovation Hub in White City, London.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development and management of innovation and technology partnerships.
• Lead and manage a portfolio of innovation projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders regularly.
• Identify funding opportunities and develop project proposals with clear objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
• Assess emerging technologies and trends for potential innovation and product development.
• Collaborate with internal departments including Engineering, Marketing & Sales.
• Manage relationships with external partners like universities and research institutions.

Experience & Qualifications

• Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and embrace ambiguity.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Technical background in STEM; understanding core technologies relevant to Saab.
• Passion for innovation and experience managing complex technical projects.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience, including planning, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desirable

• Masters in a relevant STEM subject.
• Experience in defence or security industry.
• Grant writing, business case development, influencing, and negotiation skills.
