AirX Jet Support is a UK CAA and EASA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on our parent company fleet of CL-600, EMB 135 and ERJ 190 series aircraft. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are recruiting for an experienced Safety Manager to join our team.

As the nominated person in the role of Safety Manager for the Part 145 approval, you will develop, lead and drive the Safety Management System (SMS). Working in support of private jet charter operations, you will be part of a fast paced and dynamic environment that offers unique professional challenges. You will collaborate directly with the Accountable Manager and other Nominated Persons, influencing strategic decisions and play an invaluable part in building and upholding our safety culture and values.

This role is a Monday to Friday position working onsite at the London Stansted Diamond Hangar facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage the Safety Management System (SMS), working closely with the Compliance Monitoring Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure its effectiveness.
• Establish, develop and maintain the Safety Management Manual, Hazard Log, Risk Register and Safety Performance Indicators.
• Coordinate and update the Emergency Response Plan and associated procedures.
• Facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis through the Safety Review Board and Safety Action Group.
• Plan and deliver safety related training in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Initiate and lead internal safety investigations.
• Ensure the Accountable Manager and Nominated Persons are notified and assured on all safety related hazards and risk mitigation.
• Function as the go-to expert for all things safety, both internally and with competent authorities including the UK CAA and EASA.

Required Experience

• Previous Nominated Person or the ability to meet the criteria to be a Nominated Person under UK CAA and EASA regulations.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Part 145 regulations and UK CAA / EASA safety requirements.
• Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Previous experience of using IQSMS (preferred).
• Effective problem solver with a solution focused mindset.

Required Qualifications

• A relevant engineering degree, or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority.
• In the absence of a relevant engineering degree, or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification, 7 years demonstrable experience including 2 years in an appropriate position covering aircraft maintenance and/or the surveillance of such tasks is acceptable.
• Minimum 12 months experience in a Safety Management function.
• Recognised industry training and/or qualifications in Safety Management, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management, Safety Investigation, ICAO standards and Human Factors.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must have legal authorisation and the right to work in the UK.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and hold airside ID passes at multiple locations.
