A leading contractor in the utilities sector is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to oversee electrical aspects of water projects. This long-term contract role requires a strong electrical background, offering £550 per day. The successful candidate will manage project delivery and ensure compliance with industry standards for Southern Water and Affinity Water schemes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in the water industry.
- Strong understanding of LV electrical systems and pump station controls.
- Qualified under 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable).

Working for a Tier 1 Contractor
A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of AMP8 projects across Southern Water and Affinity Water frameworks. This is a long-term contract role, ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical background in water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Oversee electrical engineering aspects of clean and wastewater projects from design through to commissioning.
- Review and interpret electrical designs, ensuring compliance with specifications and water industry standards.
- Support the coordination between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical components and installations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all electrical works.
- Conduct site inspections and support commissioning and handover processes.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within the water industry or similar infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, MCCs, ICA, and pump station controls.
- Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience with AMP frameworks - highly desirable.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - desirable.
- ECS or CSCS card - preferred.
- Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Duration: 12 months
- Start Date: ASAP
- Rate: £550 per day (CIS)
