Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Production Operative to join a manufacturing team in Romsey, England. Responsibilities include assembling testing equipment, fault finding, and quality control. Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but candidates with qualifications in chemistry and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time role, starting at £12.31 per hour, with a temp-to-perm contract following a successful 12-week qualifying period.

Responsibilities
- Work within the production team to assemble parts for testing equipment.
- Operate and ensure testing equipment is functioning correctly.
- Conduct fault finding, repairs, and quality control tasks.
- Assist with general warehouse duties.
The Best Connection are currently looking to recruit a Production Operative, to work at our client's busy manufacturing and testing site, based in Romsey, Southampton.
Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Working for a company that manufactures water testing equipment
- Working within the production team in the factory
- Assembling parts to help manufacture the testing equipment
- Operating the testing equipment to ensure it is working correctly
- Fault finding and repairing
- Quality control
- Assisting with all general warehouse duties
Due to the nature of the work, previous experience would be highly advantageous. However, if you do not have prior experience in a similar role, any experience, education or qualifications in chemistry and an interest to learn more would be ideal for the role.
This is to start in January 2026, following a successful interview with the Production Manager.
This is for a full-time, ongoing position, on a temp-to-perm basis. This means that the company will offer a permanent contract after a 12-week qualifying period, depending on performance and attendance.
Working hours are 07:30 - 16:30, Monday - Friday.
Starting pay rate is £12.31 per hour.
