The care assistant attends to personal needs and comforts of the elderly and infirm [the service user] with care and support within the care home.
• To provide personal care, attention and assist service users with showering, shaving, hygiene and dressing in accordance with planned care.
• To monitor the service user’s physical needs, and ensure their well-being comfort and dignity are met.
• To assist in serving meals to service users and ensuring nutritional needs are met.
• To undertake light cleaning and domestic duties.
• To maintain accurate records of service user’s care and report changes in their condition promptly.
• To encourage and assist service users in leisure pursuits and offer them emotional support.
• To liaise with professional staff in carrying out care plans
• The care workers duties may vary from time to time but their commitment to enhancing service user’s lives remain constant. The worker will be expected to work a period of 42 hours per week [to be confirmed]
