Job description

The appointment of a Business Development Manager is central to Clove Mart Global Ltd’s strategy to consolidate its current retail success and expand into wholesale and online markets. Operating from Ilford Lane, one of East London’s busiest commercial corridors, the company handles a diverse product range including household consumables, storage solutions, electronic accessories, and lifestyle products. With consistent trading activity confirmed by our bank records and ledgers, the business requires a dedicated professional to manage sales strategies, drive customer acquisition, oversee marketing campaigns, and ensure compliance with trading standards. The Business Development Manager will enable the company to respond to increasing consumer demand, improve customer engagement, and optimise both retail and wholesale operations. This role is therefore integral to sustaining growth, maintaining competitiveness in a fast‑paced retail environment, and ensuring the long‑term stability and profitability of the business.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Liaise with directors and senior staff to define the product range, sales targets, and long‑term growth objectives.
  2. Analyse customer feedback, sales figures, and market trends to identify opportunities for new product lines and wholesale partnerships.
  3. Develop, manage, and implement marketing campaigns across in‑store, online, and wholesale channels, including pricing strategies and promotional initiatives.
  4. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing wholesale clients and retailers, while securing new accounts to expand the company’s trading footprint.
  5. Oversee customer accounts, negotiate credit terms, and ensure smooth processing of wholesale orders and retail transactions.
  6. Recruit, train, and mentor junior sales staff to enhance customer service standards and operational efficiency.
  7. Produce detailed reports and recommendations on marketing performance, sales trends, and competitor analysis for senior management decision‑making.
  8. Ensure that the company remains competitive on Ilford Lane’s busy retail corridor by introducing innovation in merchandising, store layout, and product positioning.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  1. Minimum Graduate level education or equivalent (RQF Level 6).
  2. Good command of spoken and written English.
  3. At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
