We are seeking an experienced Electrician or Electrical Engineer who is looking for a change in direction but wants to use their knowledge and experience but in an office based setting. The Electrical Compliance Engineer (Domestic) role is initially offered as a 12month fixed term contract but may be extended or offered on a permanent basis depending on workload. Full-time, part time and flexible working can all be considered. Based in Walsham Le Willows, not far from Bury St Edmunds, Diss and Stowmarket. With a starting salary of £35,000 - £38,000.

The Company

The company are a property maintenance company who provide a wide range of services to customers all over the UK. These include gas and electrical safety inspections, Legionella testing, CO and smoke alarm , gas and electrical repairs and installations. With 25 years experience within the residential lettings industry the company have recently expanded their offering to include boiler installations too!. The role will be working in a lovely rural setting, with a supportive team.

The Job

This position plays an important role in assisting the electrical team process and manage EICR and associated documents carried out in rental and home owner properties. You will be joining an operations team dedicated to this influx of work which will take the next 12 Months (possibly longer) to oversee.

We are seeking someone who has previously worked as an Electrician who can assist the team with the following duties and responsibilities:


• Dealing with incoming enquiries from Customers regarding notes and advisories on completed EICR documents
• Acting as a point of contact for electricians working in the field who may have a technical query or wish to obtain a second opinion
• Drawing on previous practical experience as an electrician to offer advice and guidance to customers, sub-contractors and team members
• Interpreting EICR reports and using your excellent communications skills to help make the information digestible and easy to understand
• As required, carry out a desk top review of an engineers submitted reports to identify any inconsistencies’
• Acting as technical support and offering diagnostics from time to time
• Assisting the customer service department with more technical complaints and queries
• Where required updating information of the CRM ensuring all details are corrects and up to date with the most relevant information
• Creation of emails including technical information which is correct and compliant at all times
• Speaking to customers and electrician on the phone as required
• Approval of works checking quotations and certificates are correct before information is sent to the customer
• Formulation of quotations
• Checking and collating photographs and ensuring all are uploaded to the system


The Person

We are seeking an experienced electrician who has previous experience and knowledge of the Domestic Electrical industry and the following skills and attributes:

• Previous experience as a Domestic Electrician is essential
• The relevant wiring regulations – 18th Edition, inspection and testing level 3 2391, or equivalent is a must have too
• The ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone and email
• A good understanding of EICR reports, code classifications and recommendations
• Good IT skills, outlook, word, excel and email and ideally some CRM experience too
• Familiarity with Part P building regulations for new circuit and reworks
• Thorough, methodical and with excellent attention to detail
• Happy to work in an office based environment.

Pay & Hours

Initially a 12 Month FTC which could be extended or made permanent depending on workload. Full time, part time or flexible working can be considered for this role. Not hybrid or working from home and has a starting salary of £35,000 - £38,000 per annum.
